The National Lubricant Container Recycling Coalition Welcomes New Associate Member Nexus Circular

The National Lubricant Container Recycling Coalition (NLCRC) is pleased to announce that Nexus Circular has joined the coalition as an associate member. Along with principal members Castrol, Valvoline, Pennzoil - Quaker State, Graham Packaging, Plastipak Packaging, Berry Global, Chevron, and associate member, the Petroleum Packaging Council, Nexus Circular will contribute to the NLCRC's vision to create end-of-life solutions for plastic lubricant containers.

“Nexus Circular has worked with the NLCRC on the Atlanta Lubricant Container Recycling Pilot Program to validate the technical feasibility of the program. The NLCRC’s close collaboration with Nexus Circular to establish long-term commercially scaled solutions for the post-consumer recycling of plastic lubricant containers and to demonstrate the viability of advanced recycling to return the plastic molecule to productive use is of critical importance to the NLCRC’s mission. We couldn’t be more delighted to have Nexus Circular as a program partner and as a member of the NLCRC.” said Tristan Steichen, Director of NLCRC.

Formed in 2021, the NLCRC is an industry-led technical coalition focused on developing a national market-sustaining program that drives the recovery and recycling of plastic packaging used to transport lubricants and related products for commercial and consumer use.

“Nexus is pleased to join the NLCRC and for the opportunity to provide a scaled, infinitely circular solution using our proven advanced recycling system.  Converting hard-to-recycle plastics, like post-consumer lubricant packaging, into an ISCC Plus certified liquid which is then used to produce virgin-equivalent plastic packaging is an ideal use-case, demonstrating Nexus’ unique end-of-life solution.” said Eric Hartz, President and Co-Founder of Nexus Circular.

About Nexus Circular

Nexus Circular is an advanced recycling company at the center of the circular economy. We accelerate plastic recycling so that people, economies and the environment can thrive. We have a viable solution today that is circular, efficient and economical at full commercial scale.  Through our end-to-end solution, we work directly with recycling organizations and companies across the plastics value chain to capture used plastics - especially hard-to-recycle films - from landfill, having already diverted millions of pounds to date.  By leveraging technology that outperforms, operations that scale and people that deliver, our proprietary technology and leading process design converts used plastics into clean high-quality, ISCC Plus certified circular liquid for global companies who use them to produce virgin-equivalent plastics.  We are on a trajectory to convert 4 billion pounds of landfill-bound plastics into circular liquid by 2025 and 20 billion pounds by 2030 to meet our strategic partners’ sustainability commitments.
