The National Lubricant Container Recycling Coalition Welcomes New Member CKS Packaging, Inc.

The National Lubricant Container Recycling Coalition (NLCRC) is pleased to announce that CKS Packaging, Inc. has joined the coalition as an associate member. Along with NLCRC's principal and associate members, CKS Packaging, Inc. will contribute to the NLCRC's vision to create end-of-life solutions for plastic lubricant containers.

CKS Packaging is a privately owned manufacturer and supplier of rigid plastic packaging with 27 manufacturing locations in the United States, headquartered in Atlanta, GA. As the 7th largest North American blow molder of rigid plastic containers, and with over 50 years of experience in the plastics manufacturing business, CKS Packaging has developed a unique set of capabilities that have made the company an industry leader for innovative and cost-effective solutions for its customers.

“We are very excited to welcome CKS to our NLCRC team, particularly given their knowledge and experience providing automotive packaging solutions beyond petroleum lubricants, which is more representative of a diverse petroleum packaging market.”  - Tristan Steichen, Director of NLCRC

Formed in 2021, the NLCRC is an industry-led technical coalition focused on developing a national market-sustaining program that drives the recovery and recycling of plastic packaging used to transport lubricants and related products for commercial and consumer use. Having recently launched the Atlanta Lubricant Container Recycling Pilot in 2022 and fresh off the heels of extended producer responsibility legislation, CKS Packaging Inc.’s membership with the NLCRC is timely.

“Our membership in the NLCRC plays an integral part in our commitment to provide solutions that meet the expectations of our customers for products and services that are delivered with continuously improving sustainability.” - Mike Bonsignore, Chief Sustainability Officer

CKS Packaging, Inc’s membership affirms The National Lubricant Container Recycling Coalition's role in bringing companies together to learn and help transition the lubricant container sector to the circular economy by minimizing plastic usage and increasing recycling rates; it also further underlines the necessity of industry collaboration in light of changing EPR legislation in the U.S.
